Progressing with the Home Alarm Project
Juggling time between different projects can be a challenge, but it's also exciting. For my home alarm system, it's been a mix of ups and downs. Recently, there was a hiccup when an update to Homey Pro disrupted the 5GHz network. I fixed it by switching to the ethernet adapter, it keeps things running smoothly.
The Philips Hue outdoor sensors, which I use through a community app, are still causing some trouble with false alarms. I'm working on a fix for that. On the bright side, the Aqara window and door sensors have been rock solid since day one. They've been really reliable, which is great for peace of mind.
I also upgraded my old Schnider dimmers to new ones with Wiser support. This change lets me control my lights from an app, and I've linked the external lights with dimmers. It's a small but meaningful upgrade that makes managing the lighting in my home more convenient and efficient.
All this tinkering with the home alarm system is a great learning experience. It's also a reminder of how important it is to find time for what you're passionate about.
MailFiltr – Making Email Easier
I'm thrilled to share that MailFiltr, my email filtering app, is now available for both Apple and Android users. I have released three updates so far, each one making it better than before. I've also updated the MailFiltr website, so it's easier to use and find what you need. Plus, I'm sharing some stats on Plausible to show the sites traffic.
Conclusion
That's all for this update! From the exciting progress with MailFiltr to the everyday challenges of juggling different projects, it's been a journey of growth and learning. The home alarm project and the development of MailFiltr are ongoing, and I can't wait to share more about them in the future.
Balancing work, personal projects, and downtime isn't always easy, but it's definitely possible with the right tools and a bit of planning.
